Spanish Workshops
General Workshop
Descriptions
Unless otherwise noted, Dos Caminos Spanish Workshops are "Spanish Immersion"
Enrichment classes - classes for all ages are conducted primarily in the target language.
In Workshops
the use of Realia
(real life objects), Visual Aides, Gestures/Sign Language, Movement & Music, Storytelling
& Role-play, and Review and Repetition of concepts
allows each student to develop an understanding of Spanish in a "natural"
and meaningful context through listening and interacting with the
Instructor and other students. Focus is primarily on aural/oral communication
(listening/speaking) for Beginners. When appropriate, Intermediate/Advanced Language
Classes may include
reading and writing activities in Spanish.
Workshops are based on seasonally
appropriate stories and curriculum developed specifically for Dos Caminos
Spanish Workshop classes. In addition we incorporate related songs, games, crafts, and
other activities to enhance the learning experiences in class. Materials are adapted to be developmentally appropriate for
each age/ability group.
